Alex was a businessman and the partner of Lindsey.

Season 1[]
Alex was sent to Kansas City to contact a client who canceled at the last minute. The next night Alex returned home to find Lindsey tortured, bloodied and terrified of him. A shocked Alex then encountered a shapeshifter who looked exactly like him and who proceeded to knock him out with a bat. The next day Alex was arrested for torturing Lindsey. However, the police probably released Alex when they came to the conclusion that Dean Winchester was the actual attacker.
