The Akrida Invasion of 1957 is the invasion of the Monster Club Universe by the Akrida in 1957.

Progression[]

Prelude[]

During the War for Creation, God created a race of monsters called the Akrida as a failsafe in case of his defeat at the hands of Team Free Will 2.0.[1] God was eventually defeated and his powers were stripped from him with Jack Kline becoming the new God and restoring everything that God had destroyed,[2] including the Multiverse.[1]

In the Monster Club Universe, in the 17th century, hunter Joan Hopkins went insane and consumed monster essences, becoming convinced that humanity was the problem and needed to be destroyed. Unable to kill Joan who couldn't be harmed by anything of that Earth, hunters and the Men of Letters teamed up together to banish Joan from their world. As a result, Joan met the Akrida, becoming their queen and leading their efforts to destroy other worlds.[1] Under Joan's leadership, the Akrida invade her world several times over the centuries, but they are always defeated by the Men of Letters who use the Ostium to banish the Akrida back to their own universe each time.[3]

Invasion[]

In 1957, the Akrida launched another invasion, opposed by the Men of Letters who suffered severe casualties.

During this time Jack Wilcox performed experiments on the Akrida in an attempt to find a way to kill them. Shortly after Jack was kicked out of the Men of Letters for his unethical experimentation, the Akrida sought revenge. Unable to attack Jack directly, the Akrida targeted his wife Dorothea through one of their puppets, leaving her comatose and on life support.

Eventually, the Men of Letters managed to use the Ostium to banish most of the Akrida back to their own world, ending the invasion. However, some managed to escape and went into hiding, including the Akrida Queen.[3]

Aftermath[]

Furious at being defeated time after time, Joan Hopkins used every ounce of power that she had left to wipe out the Men of Letters, ending their threat to her plans.[1] To Ada Monroe, the Men of Letters all simply vanished without a trace,[4] although expelled former Man of Letters Jack Wilcox survived the massacre.[3]

As a result of the massacre, the Men of Letters were not around in 1972 when the Akrida returned to try again. Instead, the Akrida were fought by the Monster Club, including Men of Letters legacy John Winchester, and their allies.[4] Due to being weakened by her defeat in 1957, the Akrida were forced to restore Joan Hopkins' strength.[5][6][7][8] Ultimately, with the help of Dean Winchester, the Monster Club were able to kill the Akrida Queen and wipe out the species during their invasion in 1972.[1]
