== Apocrypha == Really interesting information you have added to Lilith's page. It really shows how much Lilith was designed to be really powerful but because most of her actions were off-screen, many people still understandably believe Azazel to be more powerful (aside from the fact that YED was more involved personally in the destruction of the lives of the Winchester family). FTWinchester (talk) 01:01, January 6, 2014 (UTC) Just came home from a night shift duty, so let me get back to you on the discussion on the companions some other time. A lot of my examples from my last post were exaggeration though, so I'm expecting I have several clarifications to say. But regardless of how the discussion on the consistency turns out, my opinion on the matter of the canonicity of the companion remains more or less the same, and for now we better wait for the opinions of others. FTWinchester (talk) 06:41, January 9, 2014 (UTC) I posted a response on the thread again, but this the the crux of my opinion regarding the acceptance or rejection of the companion: Initially, I was against including information as canon, but I am now only advocating for counting that as canon because that was the consensus of the wikia on a precedent. Of course, the consensus outweighs my personal opinion. Now, however, that there is an opportunity to challenge the status quo, my position is to accept them if they agree with the live-action series (this is where the discussion got bigger, though), or drop them if they don't. Whatever the decision is, I support it, so long as the entirety is accepted or rejected, and not just parts of it. As for actors, I really don't know--it's a different matter altogether. This is the slippery slope I wanted to avoid initially about using the companion as canon--where do we stop outsourcing information? I guess this is something I am not prepared to answer concretely as of this point. FTWinchester (talk) 17:23, January 10, 2014 (UTC) : Also, thank you for helping me realize your side's points as well. Cheers! FTWinchester (talk) 17:24, January 10, 2014 (UTC) : I just grabbed myself a copy of the Essential Supernatural and holy wow it's so awesome! It makes me so happy I basically forgot I had a headache the moment I saw it. FTWinchester (talk) 01:58, January 12, 2014 (UTC) : The book is basically like endorphins for me. The one I find really interesting is the rings of the horsemen being called 'The Rings of Destiny'. I am also still trying to get hold of the Season 3 and 4 companions (to read more about white-eyed and yellow-eyed demons), and Season 6 (to read more about Eve). The bookstore I went into yesterday had the Companion 6 in its database but we couldn't find the copy as someone must have bought it before I did. I'm not entirely fond of the novels since I know from the get-to they are non-canon, although I am interested in the one with Aswang (Fresh Meat?) since I'm Filipino. I do have John Winchester's Journal (I purchased it along with the Essential, although I have had an e-book before), and Bobby Singer's Guide to Hunting. But yeah, basically, Companion 4 would be really nice as it is my favorite season as well! I honestly thought at that point that Ruby and Anna would be a mainstay because the ensemble was quite amazing--Sam and Dean, a hepful demon, and an angel-turned-human (with occasional Bobby, of course). I like Castiel, but I honestly think Anna could have stayed as well. I think that point of the series was the strongest in terms of expansion of characters outside the brothers, tied with Ellen and Jo in Season 2 and 5 (mostly 5, when they all worked together). Of course, since it's so perfect, that means it wouldn't hold, so whatever. FTWinchester (talk) 13:51, January 12, 2014 (UTC) : Yeah, I hate how lopsided the views are on certain characters. Anna did not deserve the hate she got. What you said about Jo and Ellen is true--they should have been used at least once on Season 3 and/or 4. Lisa and Ben suffered the same fate--they were present for a few episodes in the first half of 6, but disappeared until they were in danger. It would have been more powerful if we saw more of those minor characters before they suffered deaths or before they were written off. There were very very few interesting things in John Winchester's Journal (mainly because several were already disproved by the live-action series and it was more of a general reflection on real-world lore on demons and vague notes on how long it's been since Mary's death, and how and how fast the boys were growing up), while Bobby's Guide offered more information (unfortunately, it, too, could hardly be considered canon because it calls Samhain a Blue-eyed demon and outright blatantly claims YED was the most powerful demon they encountered, and not any of the white-eyed demons when Bobby did not even first-hand encounter Samhain). Still, Bobby's Guide did provide a background on the origin of the dragon swords, the natural order (vis-a-vis monsters), as well as Bobby's origin as a hunter (it's in f'n Japan of all places and described japanese hunters called/anglicized as huntaa, so it's insta-awesome). FTWinchester (talk) 20:13, January 12, 2014 (UTC) : I'm doing well, thanks! Nice to finally see that resolved. I fear, however, that people are now going to bring in Cain and Abaddon into the mix for another endless debate. Carver's era is replete with retcons anyway, but it is nice to finally know that we were moving UP the hierarchy and power scale as it appeared to be, and not how the pro-azazel people put it. I'm doing quite well, and you? FTWinchester (talk) 23:50, September 1, 2014 (UTC)
